IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF DOM PÉRIGNON AND THE SECRETS OF CHAMPAGNE

Begin your adventure in Hautvillers, known as the birthplace of Champagne and the home of Dom Pierre Pérignon. He was the monk who helped turn Champagne into the sparkling wine we know today.

Take a stroll through this charming village with its narrow streets and historic winegrowers’ houses. Look out for the 140 beautiful wrought iron signs hanging on the buildings, each representing an old trade from the area. Make sure to visit the Abbaye of Saint-Pierre d’Hautvillers, where Dom Pérignon worked as a monk and cellar master. You can also see his grave, which honors his incredible contribution to the world of Champagne.

During this day, you will have the opportunity to participate in two tastings. The first will take place at one of the prestigious Champagne Houses of your choice. For the second, we will take you to discover a more understated house, recently opened to the public: Champagne Pierre Paillard. With over 200 years of history, this family-run house, currently led by the 8th generation of winemakers, offers a unique experience for Champagne enthusiasts.

You will begin with a guided tour of their Grand Cru vineyards, during which you will learn about the terroir that shapes their wines. Next, you will explore the historic cellars, located 16 meters underground, where the champagne matures. Finally, head to the elegant tasting room to savor the champagnes that have earned their reputation, each one showcasing the craftsmanship of the estate and its commitment to quality.
